Wayne White, president/CEO, is retiring after 23 years of dedicated service to the members of the United Methodist Financial Credit Union, Inc.  White began his tenure in 1992 as Manager/Treasurer of the East Ohio United Methodist Conference Credit Union.   Under his management, the credit union has grown from an asset size of $7,480,000 to $94,351,038 as of March 31, 2015.  During White’s tenure the credit union introduced new products and services such as debit cards, share certificates, home banking, member church loans, ACH origination, and credit card rewards program.  He oversaw three major database conversions as well as the merger of the Beacon Credit Union in 2004 and West Ohio Conference Credit Union in 2012.

We appreciate White and his outstanding leadership of the credit union, he will be missed. We wish him all the best in retirement.    He and his wife Jayne will be relocating to Tennessee where he plans to spend time fishing in his pond.

In 2012 we changed our name and became the United Methodist Financial Credit Union, Inc. at the time of the West Ohio Conference Credit Union merger. To ensure the stability of the credit union a succession plan was put in place.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Russ Abbott as the new President/CEO, effective April 1.  Abbott has been the credit union’s Chief Operating Officer since July 1, 2012 and previously was President/CEO of the West Ohio United Methodist Credit Union for 11 years.  In addition to his work at the credit union, he serves as pastor of Perintown UMC of the West Ohio Conference.   Abbott majored in business administration at the University of Cincinnati and has worked in the financial services arena for over 35 years.

We are also pleased to announce the promotion of staff member, Robin Chappell to Branch Operations Officer.  Robin will be responsible for the office and personnel management, staff training, payroll, and general operations of the North Canton Office.  She will continue to work in other areas of the credit union including ATM/Debit card management and member satisfaction assurance.
