After 18 months, brick mason, Lee Kachner along with Camp Asbury staff and volunteers completed the construction of its outdoor brick oven and fireplace in June 2014. Located on the patio outside the Asbury dining hall, the brick oven and fireplace was used during summer camp. It will also be used in the retreat season to build community and provide campers with a unique dining experience. Pizza and bread are most commonly cooked in the oven, especially during Camp Asbury’s Pizza Mania Week.
