The people of East Ohio have filled sanctuaries across the conference to welcome Bishop Tracy S. Malone and her family. Planned by the conference Episcopacy Committee and the Cabinet, the welcome services provide opportunities to meet the bishop while highlighting the hospitality, the passion, and the ministries of the people of East Ohio.
Photos from each of the four services can be viewed and downloaded on the conference Flickr page.
“I am delighted, to be here in the East Ohio Conference. I look forward to leading you and with you, I look forward to loving you, I look forward to being your pastor, and I look forward to being your friend,” the bishop said at Salem First United Methodist Church (Mahoning Valley District).
“It is my prayer that every congregation will be a vital force of healing and hope in the communities in which they serve, a community of faith where each person is growing in their faith in Christ but also in love and service to their neighbor,” she said at Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church (Western Reserve District).
“I am praying for a fresh outpouring of God’s spirit upon every pastor, every member and every congregation,” Malone said at Newcomerstown Christ United Methodist Church (Three Rivers District).
The final welcome service is scheduled for 3pm on Sunday, November 13 at Ashland First UMC (Mid-Ohio District).
